1 week!!

We have been here for one whole week! A week of sleeping on an air mattress, eating off paper plates, drinking out of kegs cups..its been a long week but so GREAT!!

Stay classy San Diego!!

Well we have been having alot of fun!! The weather is great and the nightlife is awesome! Every night of the week there are great dinner specials and most of the restaurants allow you to bring your (well behaved) dogs to their outdoor seating!

 
Well they have been well behvaed most of the time...we left the dogs alone for a while not realizing that our down blanket was hanging down by Jasper's kennel. Let's just say that he was quite clear about how he felt about being locked in his kennel!

Great wine at the Tractor Room!

So all in all it has been great! We are supposed to get our furniture tomorrow which will be SOOOOO great! I can't do very many more nights of the air mattress! I will be sure to take pictures and post them once the house is all set up! We are hoping to have that done by the end of the weekend depending on how nice it is...might be too hot to work! LOL

Today was my first actual day at my new office! It went well and I have alot to work on over the next few months and beyond. It will be a great challenge for me and I am really looing forward to it!

We got to meet Sean's new Store Manager this week and see the store that he is going to be working at. We both live under 5 miles from work which is so nice!!

Well have to go work on stuff for a meeting tomorrow and wait for it to cool off before we head for bed! We can't wait to see everyone soon!!

We have arrived!!

Well the drive was VERY LONG!!! Not a drive we will be making again...EVER!!! The dogs were great!! They were way better than we thought that they would be!

Yesterday we went to the dog beach!! It was pretty cool except that our dogs do NOT like to get covered in sand! They rolled around all the way home trying to get it off of them! We gave them a bath and they still had sand on them!
We went out for dinner last night for the first time too. We were able to take the dogs too! It is great because Hillcrest is REALLY dog friendly. We see dogs on the street all the time and they are at all of the restaurants!

We slept in today for the first time which was really nice! Then we headed out to the dog park in Balboa Park. It was great! It will take a few more times before the dogs are used to playing with other dogs! They had fun running and playing ball. They even made a few friends!

Tonight we finally left them at home and went "out on the town". It was great! We are only a few blocks from all of the restaurants in Hillcrest so we can go out and walk home! It is really clean and very safe! I like it because I can walk the dogs, even at night and not feel worried! This has really improved our lives because we can go out after work and take the dogs with!

Tonight we went out for Happy Hour in Hillcrest and had some great sushi and went to a wine bar owned by a French guy! The wine was great and so was the food! We made our first actual friend. Her name is Tera and her dog's name is Ebi! They were great! Everyone here is so friendly!! They all want to tell us about the GREAT places to eat and go to!

Well hopefully our furniture will be here soon! We are currently sitting on beach chairs, drinking out of keg cups, eating off paper plates and sleeping on an air mattress!! Ahhh the life!

I will be back to work on the 6th but Sean will have a few more days off to try to get our place set up! We are REALLY looking forward to everyone visiting! We have already looked into annual passes to Sea World, San Diego Zoo and of course Disneyland!!

Finishing things up!

Well the packers are at the house! The movers will be there tomorrow to pack up all of our belongings and move them! Crazy how fast this all happened!!

We have a VERY busy weekend visiting family/friends! We will be attending one of my best friends weddings this Sunday and that will be our last event in WA! We are planning on leaving Sunday night so we can get started on the drive, plus our house will be empty!!

We are going to try to make it to Sacramento by mid-day on Monday. This will give us a chance to let the puppies out for a while, get a good dinner and get to bed early to get on the road early on Tuesday morning. we are hoping to be in San Diego at our place by diner time :)


We did finally find a place! That was extremely crazy! It will be a great little place for the next year while we get settled! Our new address is:

First post from San Diego!

So this trip to San Diego was exactly what I needed!! It has really made this whole thing finally feel REAL! I feel completely out of place and it is hard driving around and having to completely rely on my GPS just to go to the grocery store! That will take some getting used to! Thankfully everything in San Diego is actually fairly close together so not too much driving! Tonight after work went out to dinner then drove downtown to the Gaslamp District. It only took about 6 or 7 minutes to get there! I don't like driving on the freeway yet! They are crazy drivers! Gaslamp District is great! When you all come to visit we will be sure to take you there!

It has been great to meet my new team at the office! I have a great group of people and actually have lots in common with all of them! They have been really helpful in telling me where good places are to live and where NOT to live! LOL It will be great to have them to help show me around. Here is a picture of my new office. Sean is waiting to hear back from his new district about getting placed so prayers about that are really appreciated!

Tomorrow night I am going to look at our first 2 options for houses. This has been really challenging because all of the good rentals get listed and are rented almost the next day! Then I am spending almost all day Friday looking at houses as well. So hopefully I will have good news about a house when I get home!

It can't believe that we will officially be in San Diego in only 13 days!! Lots to do!!

2011 has been an amazing year!

This year has been amazing! When the year began we had no idea the wonderful things that were in store for us. For the first time in my life I finally felt like all of the hard work that I had done over my life was paying off!

As most of you know we are moving to San Diego in just a few short weeks! I really don't think that it has even sunk in yet. It is just hard to imagine that what we have known for all of our lives will all be very different very soon, but we couldn't be more excited!

So here is kinda what's going on right now....

• We are working on getting our new house (*tear) rented out before leave. It is going well so far so we will just hope that it keeps going that way!

• We have finally set moving date. The movers will be here August 27th to pack up all of our stuff and get it moving to San Diego. I am just so thankful that we don't have to do that all over again!
• We are planning on heading for San Diego on Monday August 29th. That is the part that I am NOT looking forward to! 3 dogs, 1 boyfriend, 1 car and 1,200 miles in 2 days!! I will try to update the blog as we are making our way to California. We are planning on arriving in San Diego the night of August 30th...if all goes as planned!
• I'm sure you are all wondering...so where are you going to be living? That is a great question...we don't know yet!!! Thankfully I am going to be in San Diego working Aug 16-19. We have a great Realtor down there who is going to be showing me homes and if all goes well I will be signing a lease before I fly back home!
• We have also gotten great news on a job for Sean! It looks like he will get to transfer in his same position and be able to be close to where we are living! More details to come on that.
